Yu-li Patrick Hsieh

Yu-Li Patrick Hsieh Yu-li Patrick Hsieh is a Ph. D. student in the Media, Technology and Society program at Northwestern University. His research interests include the influences of information technology on social engagement, as well as its effects on social, psychological, and economic well-being.

Patrick was born and raised in Taipei, Taiwan where he earned a B.A. in Mass Communication and Journalism from Fu Jen Catholic University (1996) and an M.A. in Social Informatics from Yuan Ze University (2002). Patrick also holds an M.A. in Sociology from the University of Illinois at Chicago (2007).

In his personal time, Patrick enjoys baseball, Belgian beer, and Pinot Noir. He is also a not-so-typical computer/gaming geek who claims that his PC is as cool as the image of Justin Long.
