Gina Walejko

Gina Walejko Gina was the lead graduate research assistant on the MacArthur-funded Adolescents’ Internet Uses project. She has been working with Eszter Hargittai on the Web Use Project since she got to Northwestern in 2005. She uses mixed methods to research how diverse populations of individuals use new media, including how college students use the Web. Currently, she is working with Professor Eszter Hargittai and Professor Peter Miller on some survey methodology projects.

She is currently pursuing her Ph.D. in Media, Technology and Society at Northwestern. Her research interests include new media, technology use, web use and science communication.

A true cheesehead, Gina received her B.S. at the University of Wisconsin in Communication Arts and Environmental Studies. She continued at Wisconsin, receiving a double M.S. in Life Science Communications and Environmental Studies. While at the University of Wisconsin, Gina held several positions including science writer for Earthwatch Radio and museum exhibit prototype designer.
